Biography

In Loving Memory of June Lucille Arnott McCauley

A beautiful soul has left this earth, but her spirit will forever dance in our hearts. On that sorrowful day, January 15, 2024, we said goodbye to a remarkable woman whose impact on our lives is immeasurable. June Lucille Arnott McCauley, born in Toronto on July 22, 1933, touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Our mom believed deeply in the power of connection. In her eyes, we were all bound together by a silver thread of goodness. Her infectious laughter and warm smile were enough to make anyone feel valued and appreciated. Music coursed through her veins, and her soul came alive when she danced and sang with others. She had an extraordinary ability to bring people together and make any gathering an unforgettable experience. Mom embraced every opportunity to celebrate life and enjoy a good party.

But it was our mom’s gift of understanding and compassion that we cherished most. She possessed an innate ability to sense when someone needed her. Her empathetic nature and unwavering acceptance of others provided solace during trying times.

The staff at Errinrung and Raglan Village, who became dear friends to her, often sought her out for a dose of her extraordinary energy on challenging days. We are forever grateful for the tremendous support and kindness extended to our family by the staff at Errinrung and Raglan Village. Their unwavering dedication and care during the final days were nothing short of remarkable. It is comforting to know that our belovedMom was always surrounded by love and compassion.

Mom raised her family in Oshawa, where she found success as a doctor's receptionist at the Oshawa Clinic. Her dedication and warmth touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues throughout her career. It was evident that mom made a profound impact on everyone she encountered.

Our mother’s journey was not without heartache, as she was predeceased by her loving husband Douglas McCauley and her longtime caring partner Jack Waters. They left profound voids in her life but their memory will forever be treasured.

June is survived by her loving children Steven, David, Alan, and Susan, along with her loving daughter in laws Evelyn, Diana, Arlene, and son in law Jason. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren Emily, Jocelyn, Vivian, Connor, Erin, Hailey, Caitlyn, and Pierce, as well as her adored great-grandchildren Zoe, Lydia, and Audrey. She held a special place in her heart for the partners of her grandchildren, who became an extension of her own family.

June will forever occupy a prominent space in our hearts. Her nurturing spirit, ability to find beauty in every moment, and unwavering love touched all who knew her. May her memory be a reminder to us all to embrace the connections we have and cherish the moments we share. Farewell, dear Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. Until we meet again, may your soul find eternal peace and your spirit continue to dance among the stars.

There will be a celebration of her life at a later time where there will be wine, cheese, music, singing and dancing and of course love. Just like she lived her life.
